interesting that they reassigned him to HFD.. does this mean he can actually play in the NHL this season? Also does this impact his ETC and burn a year?

He was loaned to Frolunda, allowing him to be brought back at any time. I believe if he plays more than 10 games, that burns a year of the ELC.

He can play for the big club if he's called up before the TDL.

"If he is healed enough in next week or so, Andersson could play for Team Sweden in the Olympics."

A leading Swedish hockey site says: "After his move to the AHL, his chances of playing in the Olympics is almost gone."

I read it somewhere that if he's in Hartford that means he's under an NHL contract which makes him ineligible for the Olympics . Don't know if there's any truth to this thou

For him to play in the Olympics?
If it's between the AHL or the Olympics...
But if it's between playing for NYR or to play in the Olympics, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I didn't understand why if he went to the Pack he wouldn't play in the olympics. But wayoutwest brought up a good point. Could be because the AHL is considered under an NHL contract?

Think it would be a great experience for the kid to play for his country. He aint turning the Pack season around.

Rangers get it wrong again. Hartford is a dumpster fire right now. The goal should be to keep young guys away from dysfunction. But not of the Rangers. So typical

Nothing is bigger than to represent your country in the Olympics - for Scandinavians.

Also, I said this morning in the old blog that he can still return to Frolunda this season. Deadline February 15th.

I'm not even sure when the olympics start. I'm assuming the beginning of February.

If thats the case, and the Swedes make it known to the Rangers they would like him on the Olympic squad, let the kid play over there and come over after the olympics.
